“This installation explores Navajo mythology and beliefs around multiple worlds. Navajos from various areas and families were surveyed using SurveyMonkey.com about their beliefs and their thoughts of reaching harmony, or hozho. After collecting data, findings were merged into the installation. Spatial constructions of reality and legend are created and converge at moments of pause where text and object illustrate a selection of Indigenous metaphysical insight.  The materials suggest a hindered return to the natural while the palette subtly evokes the industrial. The signs exhibited at East Window were part of a larger outdoor installation of Edges of the Ephemeral.”
