Fall of Freedom / Anna Tsouhlarakis
East Window joins forces with Fall of Freedom, featuring Edges of the Ephemeral by Anna Tsouhlarakis. Tsouhlarakis employs the template of parking signage, both familiar and authoritative, to explore Navajo (Diné) mythology and legend around multiple worlds. The artist asked questions of her Navajo community regarding their thoughts on the Navajo cycle of worlds, specifically about their beliefs of reaching a state of harmony, or “hozho”, in the world today. The responses were incorporated into this work.
