The piece that East Window founder / director Todd Edward Herman put together for this show is titled Living The Dream (a dissociative thing) and is part of the larger exhibit Flipping Scripts II: Exhibition of Colorado Curators, curated by Dan Drossman.
Living The Dream (a dissociative thing) began in response to curator Dan Drossman's prompt, "What do we need right now?" East Window founder/director Todd Edward Herman opened a call for entries inviting artists to reflect on that question by considering the psychological experience of dissociation as both a personal condition and a cultural symptom. Drawing on the language of the American Dream, Living The Dream (a dissociative thing) looks at what happens when the world feels increasingly absurd, unstable, or unreal—and how we adapt when reality no longer aligns with our expectations of it.
