In response to curator Dan Drossman's prompt, "What do we need right now?" Todd Edward Herman, founder / director of East Window Gallery, opened a call for entries inviting artists working in all media to reflect on that question by considering the psychological experience of dissociation as both a personal condition and a cultural symptom. Drawing on the language of the American Dream, LIVING THE DREAM (a dissociative thing) examines what happens when the world feels increasingly absurd, unstable, or unreal—and how we adapt when reality no longer aligns with our expectations of it.
